An architect can plan, design and oversee the construction. Because an architect’s decision will affect public safety, so an architect must have specialized raining consisting of education and a practicum. Normally it is a 4-5 year course. You will learn technical knowledge, building design, planning and management skills. 

To become an architect you will need 3 requirements:  education, experience and examination. In Australia, if you want to be a registered architect, you will need a degree from architectural school accredited by the AACA (Architects accreditation Council of Australia) at least two years of practical experience and finish the architectural practice examination. In Taiwan, you have to do the same thing as will.

There are many courses you need to learn when you study. You need to know the history and theory of architecture, design computing architectural construction and computation, different types of architecture. For example: China, Japanese or European. Design inquiry, day lighting, furniture materials and construction etc. Then you can do architectural design in every semester.

An architect can work in many sectors including real estate development urban planning, construction, interior design civil engineering...etc, depending on how many years experience you have.  Also even if you graduated from architecture school, you still need to have a license. So that’s why an architect is a professional job, like a doctor or lawyer, especially in Taiwan where there are a lot of earthquakes. An good architect need to build safety building
